Here are some hints of what we hope to include in our very special April Issue. It's packed with interesting features.

We make no apologies for dedicating this issue to Pernell Roberts and the character of Adam. Pernell will celebrate his 80th birthday around the time the magazine drops through your letter box and his too. In this issue we wish him a very happy birthday and many more years to enjoy his retirement.

We start by allowing our cover to be a simple photograph with no text to spoil your enjoyment. Instead of an opening interview we have seven pages of good wishes including one very special one. Then our own Valerie Ellis who wrote a wonderful article about Pernell way back in 2002 for Issue 4, tells us about his time at the Arena Theater. The article is accompanied by some wonderful photographs used with kind permission of the Arena Theater.

Our interviews are slanted toward the character of Adam of course. First with Gena Rowlands who, as Regan Miller, shared a kiss with him in the episode She Walks in Beauty. In addition to her time on BONANZA, she talks about her husband, John Cassevetes, and her three children who are all in the movie business. In fact, Gena herself is still acting with three productions in 2007. Our second interview has the Adam connection if not the Pernell one. Jacqueline (Aries) Pinol starred as Isabella in THE PONDEROSA and she tells us about filming in Australia, her relationship with the cast and crew and what it's like to kiss Matt Carmody!

What else could Lynne review except The Crucible? Probably the most discussed Adam episode of the first six seasons. Lynda Kemp tells of her experience watching Dear Friends and Sharon Young lets us know just who was a young girl's hero.

Hop Sing is not at all happy about a visit from Don Miguel and his daughters and Jean Hibben investigates how Pernell's first love, the stage, gave us so many words and phrases. Dining with the Cartwrights concentrates on breakfast for a hard working man. We also pay a tribute to Pernell's stand-in the late Betty Endicott.

Our fan fiction this issue concentrates on Adam and comes from Barb McDonald - Joe finds out that a pistol can be valuable in more ways than one - and from Diana Golding - the family all come to Adam for advice but will he always be there for them.

Finally we have a picture gallery of Pernell in various roles which you won't want to miss.
